Civic Engagement & Media Outreach
From its first Artists In Action benefit event, "Art for AIDS Relief" in 2001 to getting Colony Collapse Disorder into mainstream media (LA Times and NBC Live) in 2007, to hosting The Global Summit biennial on four continents; EW events reflect its holistic mission in fusing the passion of the arts with multi-sector collaboration. Leveraging events to support local to global collaboration, in 2012, EW teamed up with partners in Ghana to co-create the African Local Summit - where community leaders united to exchange the solutions they needed most. Applying advances in technology to make all voices heard, cell phone voting through partner, the Needs Report, was used to gather local input to define The Global Summit III agenda in London months later. To continue The Global Summit inspiration around the year, EW's Pulse of the Movement webcast series features leaders, partners, local voices, and opportunities for participants to have a greater community impact and personal transformation.
