Globalization - A Pro-active Response

Throughout the developing world today, people struggle to stay afloat in a world where they are inundated with sex-saturated American films and advertising, but have no access to condoms or health education. Where cell phone usage is widespread but availability of clean drinking water is not.

Cultural wisdom and traditional wares that once sustained robust livelihoods are unable to compete as they are suddenly out of context in these rapidly changing societies.

EW believes it is possible to live in harmony with the ever-evolving world of global markets and technology while still valuing traditional heritage and skills.

EW strengthens local economies and cultural integrity by:

1. Fostering sustainable livelihoods through the development and marketing of products that honor and protect indigenous heritage;

2. Promoting global values that support cultural diversity and appreciation in the United States and Europe through creative events and responsible media outlets, and;

3. Empowering those most affected by critical issues to serve as agents of change in their own communities via organizational capacity building and other education.
